The box is too big. We are in a VW beetle traveling to Mexico and want it to look inconspicuous. Should it stand up or can we lay it down?

US $157.50

Had a blast in Mexico but sooo happy to be home! Need to improve my traveling diet habits – I think I gained 5lbs! STRICT DIET STARTS NOW!
Coming from a dealer $6500 seems like a good price with only 62,000 miles on it. In times of a better economy I don't doubt it would be priced about $2000 more. My daughter drives a 2001 Volkswagen Beetle GL and she thinks it is a great little car and a joy to drive. I have driven it a few times and I think it is a bit uncomfortable but it is fun to drive. One thing for sure is that it handles real well and gets excellent traction in snow, although the automatic transmission shift from gear to gear has a very noticeable lag in very cold weather even after the engine warms to operating temperature and even in our normal midwest cold temperatures it has a nasty tendency to hang in 1st gear if the engine is not given a good warm up before driving. But the one you are thinking about buying has a manual transmission and so you won't have to worry about automatic transmission problems like that. As far as the repair work it has needed, right from the outset it was in the shop for battery cable connection problems and problems with the hood release. Even now the hood won't release unless someone lifts on the hood while another is pulling the release. It had transmission work done on it and a cracked cylinder head replaced as well a starter replacement and alternator replacement along with the battery connection problems and hood release problems while it was still under the 4 year factory warranty but the dealer has always given her a loaner to drive if it was in the shop more than one day for warranty work. It has been a fairly reliable car since those warranty repairs and the other issues it has had have just been the normal minor stuff and my daughter has been happy with it.
It's as safe to go to Mexico as it is to travel in most of the USA. The majority of the drug war violence is in the border towns as the other posters have said.
Remember that Mexico is still a developing country. The daily minimum wage is about $5USD per DAY! Don't flash cash, carry a 5 grand camera or get yourself into bad situations and you'll be just fine.
Millions of tourists visit Mexico every year and nothing bad happens to the vast majority of them. Many of the people that have problems often did something to get themselves into it.
When traveling by car in Mexico make sure you get Mexican insurance, yield to any vehicle bigger than yours, and stick to main highways, if travel ling at night use caution (best to rest at night anyways).
Use common sense, don't do things you wouldn't do back home, learn some basic Spanish and know the phone numbers for the local police and Cruz Roja (Red Cross) in case you need help in an emergency.
Thanks for the videos. The explanations with your illustration are easy to follow and, for me, helped to simplify the processes of anaerobic and aerobic pathways to ATP. Though, I did find humor in your comment regarding ATPsynthase as “all strange”. Some day, when the protein structure and function is better understood, I’d bet you’ll think of how little we knew of it’s mechanics and have a laugh about the “strange” ATPsynthase operation. =)
