I was amazed at just how stunning the image on the NEC Multisync EA241WM 24-inch LCD Monitor is. For such a good retail price you get a massive 1920x1200 resolution. Check out the review.

ive bought today nec EA231WMi
Does this monitor work with 110 and 240v? Is it possible to detach the stand? Looking for IPS-monitor that can be used in Europe and U.S and does not take too much space when traveling. 55cm x 38cm x 22cm So how thick is it without the stand?
@Nouakchott… Yes all NEC monitors are multi voltage. All NEC desktop monitors are capable of operating with or without the stand, and the stand is easily removable. The EA241WM has a TN Panel. The NEC EA231WMi has an IPS panel. The dimensions of the EA231WMi are 550mm x 379mm x 220mm. Hope this helps, it was answered direct from NEC.
I would like to have seen the vertical viewing angles. That’s the real catch with TN panels.
Very nice monitor – did they send this to you for a review? It’s beautiful!
They did send me one to review, then I returned it. However, I was so impressed I ended up buying one.
One more point, and I hope you don’t mind my hammering at this – you are not showing an image right out to the edge of the display. I think it would be a fairer demonstration if the images took up the whole surface of the screen. Also, when you rotate the display, the visible color degradation – even in your video – is quite noticeable well before you reach even 45 degrees off perpendicular. This is not anywhere near “good”. Look at a NEC2170 for comparison – it is much better in this regard.
I appreciate your response, and have contacted the dealer. However, due to the fact that he charges a “restocking” fee of 15%, and also to the fact that nearly all new displays in the price range are saddled with similar issues, largely owing to the LED backlight and the TN technology employed, I will make do with tweaking this one to its least bothersome settings meanwhile, and hope for something better in future. OLED looks promising, certainly.
If it is faulty, then surely a restocking fee cannot be charged. Maybe see if NEC can help you direct.
Sadly, NEC directs me to the dealer – and the dealer charges a flat restocking fee on anything that’s been taken out of the box. No worries – just bad luck on my part. I agree that your review shows a well-functioning device. It’s a shame mine isn’t as fault-free.
“The former of those boasts a PVA panel and the same 1,920 x 1,200 resolution as its larger counterpart, along with the usual 1,000:1 contrast ratio, a 400cd/m2 brightness rating, DVI and VGA ports (but no HDMI), a four-port USB hub, and some apparently discreet built-in speakers. The 19-incher, on the other hand, opts for a standard aspect ratio and a 1,280 x 1,024 resolution, but boosts the contrast ratio to 1,500:1 and knocks the brightness down to 250cd/m2.”
NEC Display Solutions has debuted an incredibly bright and colorful LCD monitor: the 24-inch MultiSync PA241W display.

it might be the monitor itself that has a horizontal and vertical stabilization problem
that standard for that monitor is 800 by 600 16 bit
set it to 1024 by 768 24 bit if your video card supports it

Swap monitors with a buddy. If yours is dead I'd go for a new one with a 3 year warranty. LCD prices have gone WAY down in the last couple years.

I don’t think so, but I don’t work on that floor. Andrew would know.
Yeah, great look at the monitor and everything, but can we actually get some footage of gameplay with it?
