There are two different Macbooks out there, one with miniDVI and one with miniDisplayPort. And they require different adapters.
MiniDVI Macbooks require a miniDVI-to-DVI adapter and a DVI-to-HDMI cable to connect to an HDTV’s HDMI port.
MiniDisplayPort Macbooks require a miniDisplayPort-to-DVI adapter and a DVI-to-HDMI cable.
MiniDVI and MIniDisplayPort are COMPLETELY different things and NOT compatible. so find out which Macbook you got so you don’t buy the wrong adapter.
Hope this helps.
