Asus VK246H 24′ LCD monitor unboxing/preview 8/31/09

I got my Asus VK246H LCD Widescreen monitor int he mail today. I've been wanting to upgrade to a bigger monitor for quite some time and figured if I was going to, I might as well go all out and get the biggest one I could. I don't see myself getting a bigger monitor int he future, if i do it would probably only be 1-2 inches bigger than the one I have now. This monitor suits me and my needs perfectly. So far I am very pleased with it. The colors are very crisp and bright. The amount of back light bleed is waaaay better than my westinghouse. There is still a little back light bleed as with all lcd's but it is much better t han my Westinghouse 20 inch monitor. Watch and enjoy. ^^

Hello, I think Im going to purchase this monitor for gaming on my ps3…but I was thinking…Can I use the webcam with the playstation? Using the usb it seems it would work fine.. though I know that the ps3 is really picky when it comes to accessories. If anyone knows please send me a message. If it doesn’t work then I will purchase the cheaper one without the cam….Thanks…
okay i need to know how this works… Is it already HD or HDMI compatible like would i have to buy a HDMI cable for it to work on my computer

thx for the upload. i was trying to decide between the VE278Q and the E248H but it looks like the 24 is good enough.
Mine comes in today on UPS, I don’t plan on doing a video of the un-boxing and hookup though. Maybe I’ll do one later after I’ve hooked it up to my Dell 370 and see how it works.

When I setup through HDMI I have black borders around my screen 0.o

@Budskee420 Thanks but i found the problem, it happened when I plugged in HDMI, but when i plugged in DVI, it was fixed, AND looked just as good!

@TonysTactics That’s very strange I’m not sure why edges would be cut off when using hdmi. I would suggest contacting technical support. you may need to RMA it, but I’m really not sure, sorry.

My monitor(same one) is cutting off four edges of the screen in HDMI?!?
It says it’s in 1900×1080, but it doesnt look like it…
I just ordered one of these. Like you I have a 20″ and want somthing a little bigger. I was thinking of a 27″ HP…… but in the end I think 27″ is probably to big for somthing I am 3 feet from. So I got this one. Hope it looks and works good.
@Budskee420 Great! I use PC and PS3 aswell and I sit pretty close to the monitor, so it should be really good.
@iiTzQuiik I definitely think it was worth the money. I’m still rocking it w/ my pc and PS3. I think 24-25 inches is perfect for a monitor. I think any bigger and it may be a little too big lol. If your on the fence, and have the money to spend, I say go for it. ^^

@FloresBrothers72956 Yes it’s a very wide monitor, and is in 16:9. It’s so wide that I actually don’t surf the web full screened since there is just so much space lol.
